Municipal Sports Centre
In operation since 2008, it is a modern facility that serves as a venue for the most important indoor sporting events held in our village. Located in the sports and educational area of Altafulla, it has easy access from the road that connects us with Tarragona, and enjoys free public parking just 50 metres from the building. Four changing rooms for the teams and two for the referees, with annexed areas such as the gym and the cafeteria, make the Altafulla sports centre a modern facility where sportsmen and women will find everything they need for a high level competition.
In addition, and as an added value, the Altafulla Municipal Sports Centre is located right in the centre of the sports and educational area. This area is made up of the El Roquissar Primary School, the Sports Centre, Altafulla’s Secondary School and the Joan Pijuan Municipal Stadium, all of which are located near each other. As a result, participants in a major sporting event can use these facilities without having to travel far to train or warm up.

Altafulla Maritime Club
The Altafulla Maritime Club, located on the beachfront to the south of the Botigues de Mar neighbourhood, was inaugurated in 1977. Since then, it has been a very active sports centre, but especially in recent years, after hosting competitions of the highest national and international level (1998 World Windsurfing Championship). The Altafulla Maritime Club consists of:
– Administrative concession to use the beach for beaching boats and a buoyed exit, with a crane-tractor service for beaching motorboats up to 6-7 metres in length, rescue service and fresh water for washing.
– Own clubhouse with exclusive meeting area for members, offices and changing rooms, and a restaurant with a space open to the public.
– Three boat storage rooms in the basement of the clubhouse and a yard for wintering boats.
– Tennis, fronton, paddle and sports courts.
– Men’s and women’s changing rooms.
Municipal Football Stadium Joan Pijuan
This facility is the headquarters of the Altafulla Football Club. The space is located 70 metres from the Municipal Sports Centre. The pitch is third-generation artificial turf, measuring 94 metres long, 59.5 metres wide, with an extra 2-metre wide strip on the grandstand side and 2.5 metres on the benches’ side.
The area behind the goals is 2.5 metres wide. Its covered grandstand seats 700 people, with fan seating in the central area.
Municipal swimming pool
Altafulla enjoys a Municipal Swimming Pool in Alcalde Pijuan street. The facility, halfway between the town centre and the beach, consists of a 25 metre by 8 metre swimming pool, and a smaller one for children to enjoy.
It has men’s and women’s changing rooms and a bar service. The swimming pool is open from 24 June to the first weekend in September.
Health and Outdoor Parks
Altafulla has an extensive network of health and outdoor sports parks. The municipality has two health parks located in the Hort de Pau area and in Parc Voramar. They are equipped with different elements to facilitate physical exercise. On the other hand, there is also the Safranars Park where, apart from a mountain bike circuit, there is also a set of equipment for outdoor calisthenics or street workout, a volleyball and basketball court, a football pitch, and an athletics track.
More spaces in public centres
La Portalada Primary School. Two multi-sport courts and a multipurpose hall make up this school’s sport facilities.
El Roquissar Primary School. Opened in 2007, it boasts a multi-sports court, changing rooms and a 20 x 20 metre gymnasium. Close to the Municipal Sports Centre, it could be one of the ideal places for training and warm-ups for potential competitors in the Pavilion.
Altafulla High School. Opened in 2008, it is located between the Municipal Sports Centre and the Football Field. It also has a multi-sports court and a multipurpose hall, in this case measuring 20 x 30 metres. It can be used for the same purposes as the Roquissar facilities.
