Altafulla is a Mediterranean village with medieval roots, located ten minutes from Tarragona and just one hour from Barcelona. Its location on the Mediterranean axis (the ancient Roman Via Augusta) is a necessary stop-off point for those heading south along the Spanish coast and for those who wish to head towards the centre of the Iberian Peninsula.
Road
Take exit 32 off the AP7 motorway (the motorway that links Europe with the Strait of Gibraltar), which also offers a direct link to the A7 highway.
By train
The high-speed train station is 20 km away, with hourly trains to Barcelona (30′), Madrid (2h 45′) and Seville (4 h). The local train station connects every 30 minutes with the centre of Barcelona in just under an hour; with Tarragona, in five minutes, and with Port Aventura and Salou, in 30 minutes.
By bus
There are regular lines with Barcelona, Lleida and Zaragoza; Tarragona city bus, line 12. The stop is located by the supermarket, Caprabo (Aiguamolls del Gaià) and it will leave you by the Roman Circus and the walls of Imperial Tarraco. The El Penedès bus line connects with Tarragona-Salou-Port Aventura.
By plane
Reus airport is 20 minutes away and Barcelona-El Prat airport is 45 minutes away.
